Program Description

The UM Social Work/Nursing Bridges to the Doctoral Program is committed to preparing underrepresented students for transition into and successful completion of PhD programs leading to careers conducting health disparities research. While completing their master’s degree at California State University, LA, Bridges students work closely with faculty to complete mentored research projects at their home institution, participate in a Summer Research Program at the University of Michigan, and prepare for and take the GRE. Mentoring

Each Bridges trainee is matched with a research mentor who works with them through both years of their master's degree program to develop their thesis research project. Learn more about the Bridges faculty here.
